As a reflection of our commitment to sustainability, we take great care to reduce our carbon footprint by conserving energy, reducing waste, promoting recycling, and offering environmentally friendly products.
Eco-Solvent Ink
Harsh solvent inks are among the most toxic printing technologies, releasing VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds) into the air during manufacturing, printing, usage, and disposal. In addition to their environmental impact, inks that contain these compounds present health and safety concerns for shop employees. Our eco-solvent inks match the image quality and long-lasting durability of harsh solvents without the harmful environmental impact. They contain no harmful chemicals found in harsh solvent inks such as Cyclohexanone and Xylene.
Products
ProGraphix offers environmentally friendly products including BIOflex banner and BioBoard. BIOflex banner is a biodegradable vinyl that breaks down into sodium dust when exposed to landfill conditions. BioBoard is an alternative lightweight wood product that is 100% recyclable and boasts approximately 63% post consumer waste content. We also offer liquid lamination, which is a water-based acrylic that produces much less waste than traditional film laminates.
Display Hardware
Our banner stands are constructed of highly recyclable materials that include aluminum and steel. Our popups have a 1400% recyclable display frame. Our popup and panel display fabrics are made from 100% post consumer waste plastic bottles.
Clean Energy
ProGraphix participates in Austin Energy’s GreenChoice program, which provides electricity from clean, renewable sources.
Waste Management / Recycling
ProGraphix believes in the importance of recycling and works continuously to improve its recycling program. Virtually all of our corrugated packaging is made from recycled/recovered paper fiber. ProGraphix recycles old computers and components through Goodwill Industries’ Reconnect program. We use bubble wrap and avoid Styrofoam packaging. Our employees use reusable kitchenware as opposed to disposable supplies.
Office Stationary
All ProGraphix business cards, letterhead, envelopes and marketing collateral produced on paper that is made using alternative fibers; 50% sugar cane, 50% recycled with 30% post consumer waste.
High-Efficiency Lighting and A/C Usage
According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, lighting accounts for as much as 10-15% of energy expenditures. Instead of relying on incandescent bulbs, ProGraphix has installed high-efficiency fluorescent bulbs throughout the office. Timers have been implemented to reduce unnecessary energy consumption of the air conditioners and outdoor lighting.
