Thinking Green
ProGraphix is Austin's ONLY printer certified by the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership!
Locally established in Austin, Texas, sustainability is ingrained in our culture. ProGraphix has always had a strong environmental ethic with our support of electric generation from clean, renewable sources since 2003, our choices of recyclable and recycled print materials, and the printers that we use. We found that most of our customers really did care, but we wanted to differentiate our business as fully committed to sustainability practices and not just embracing a trend.
SGP certification gave us the opportunity to develop and implement a formal program for sustainability that delivers value and results in addition to providing a credible, third party endorsement. Certification shows our commitment to achieving our sustainability goals, meeting our customer’s expectations and providing a safe working environment for our employees.
Sustainability is important because our future depends on it. Everything that we need for our survival and well-being depends, either directly or indirectly, on our natural environment. We need to make positive, proactive steps now in order to avoid limiting the choices of future generations. This does not mean having to stifle future development. On the contrary, it means conserving the supply of resources so that we can sustain future development.
SGP Certification aligns our business with other sustainability driven businesses. Implementation of the criteria not only will increase our efficiency but will also reduce waste. It strongly positions ProGraphix as a leader in sustainability as we are the only SGP certified printer in Austin and the 2nd in Texas.
SGP is the industry standard for the certification and continuous improvement of sustainability and best practices within print manufacturing operations. It was a substantial undertaking, but the resulting improvements in our products, processes and facility were well worth the effort.
"The future is literally in our hands to mold as we like. But we cannot wait until tomorrow. Tomorrow is now."—Eleanor Roosevelt
